Bidayuh Traditional Costume

               Bidayuh is the collective name for several indigenous groups found in southern Sarawak. These groups are categorized as one because their language and culture is similar. The Bidayuh itself means ‘inhabitants of land’. Over time this group has been known by many names. During the White Rajah’s time, they were known as Land Dayaks, but were officially named Bidayuh by the Sarawakian government in 2002.

                   Some Bidayuh community lives in small villages close to Kuching, while the others close to the border of Indonesia such as Serikin and Tebedu. They include six main dialectical subgroups: Bau-Bidayuh, Biatah-Penrissen, Bukar-Sadong, Padawan-Sembaan, Rara and Salako. They mostly lives in mountainous areas, from one hillside to another, living solely on plantation. Before the British era, they were all believe in Animist, but today, many of them were Christian and some becoming a Muslim.

Ayam Pansuh/Chicken Bamboo Recipe

Chicken in Bamboo or usually know as “Ayam Pansuh” is exotic food that very popular in Sarawak.

           

Ingredients (Marinate) :

·         ½kg chicken

·         Gingers

·         Onions, Garlics

·         Lemon grass

·         Cassava leaves

·         Salt

·         Young bamboo

Optional Ingredents :

·         Turmeric stump

·         MSG

·         Fermented durian

·         Black pepper

Method :

1.      Before using the bamboo, fill it with water for ½ -1 hour to clean the inside and encourage the water to seep in.

2.      Marinate all the ingredients together. Leave some of tapioca leaves to cap the bamboo later on.

3.      Emptied the water from the bamboo. Fill it with the marinated chicken.

4.      Do not compact all chicken. Let it loose lightly.

5.      Do not forget to cap the bamboo with tapioca leaves.

6.      Cook over pit fire-charcoal or stand about 60-80 degree.

7.      Pansuh is cooked if the water start to gurgle at the cap.

8.      Serve the pansuh into the bowl. 

National Service

National Service? Yes, I knew that not everyone are willing to join PLKN. But I’m so lucky that I have been chosen to join. The three-month program, which is started in December 2003 began as way to encourage friendship between youths of certain ages from different races and ethnic groups. But, this program was halted for one year in 2015 due to the federal government’s efforts to cut spending.

I was stationed at Kem PLKN Similajau, Bintulu Sarawak. I have never come before this even Bintulu only four hours from Sibu. That is why I can’t wait to get there. Bintulu is a city that produce natural gas. Bintulu is a developing city.

From Sibu to Bintulu trip takes about four hours from Sibu. I was sent by my two uncles during the registration at Dataran Sibu. I have mix feeling that time because on the other side of I felt excited and the other side I felt sad. I felt sad because I have to stayed far from my family. I learned many things while in national service's camp. 

So, we had divided into two groups which is Group 6 and 7.

Persatuan Kor Kadet Polis

SMK Kampung Nangka, Sibu

Tahun 2013

Syukur, masih diberi kepercayaan untuk menjadi Pengerusi Kelab untuk sidang 2013/2014. 

Sungguh aku rindu. Kerinduan yang memang tidak dapat diluahkan melalui kata-kata :'(

Tadi dah cerita pasal pertandingan kawad di sekolah, Yang ni Pertandingan Kawad Kor Kadet Polis Peringkat Daerah Sibu 2014.

 Mereka yang di dalam gambar itulah ahli-ahli kadet yang membantu aku membawa nama sekolah untuk menyertai pertandingan kawad di IPD Sibu. Terima kasih kepada semua :)

Ni gambar aku bersama-sama ahli kumpulan Ronda Panda Arah (RPA). Walaupun tak menang kawad, tapi kumpulan RPA Kategori Perempuan KNS dinobatkan sebagai Johan 4 tahun berturut-turut. Syukur kepada Tuhan. 

Ni gambar tahun lepas (2014) Pertandingan terakhir aku. Penyertaan terakhir dan hadiah terakhir yang aku sumbangkan untuk SMK Kampung Nangka, Sibu sebelum aku melangkah pergi meninggalkan sekolah tersebut. Tipu lah kalau aku cakap aku tak sedih. Apakan daya, perkhidmatan aku untuk Persatuan Kor Kadet Polis SMKNS cuma sampai tahun tu saja :')

Okay, sebelum tu. Minta maaf sebab jambul senget. Excited sangat nak bergambar :D Gambar ni tahun lepas jugak (2014) masa sukan sekolah. 

Ahli-ahli kadet kat belakang aku tu memang ahli kadet yang memang dah lali dengan maki hamun aku masa kawad :D Macam-macam aku buat kat dorang ni. Kena paksa cium tar panas, pastu kena push up kat atas tar panas. Kena berlari pusing padang. Tiap hari berkawad. Hujung minggu pun berkawad. Tapi memang perkara biasa lah kalau hujung minggu memang semua ahli Kadet Polis berkampung di IPD Sibu utk berkawad bersama-sama SJN Raja. Masih terngiang-ngiang di telinga aku ayat keramat Sjn Raja tu. "Makan nasi jadi taik" Asal kami buat salah masa kawad, memang sah ayat keramat tu akan keluar. Tapi takpa, maki hamun memang makanan seorang anggota pengaman. Kita ni BAKAL ya. (Amin) Ehek, takpa adik-adik. Kita sama-sama belajar. Meh aku pendekkan cerita. 

Syukur kepada Tuhan. Bila diumumkan keputusan perbarisan lintas hormat, Persatuan Kor Kadet Polis di bawah pimpinan Inspektor Kadet Habsah Johari dan Inspektor Kadet Lydia Wong dinobatkan sebagai JUARA! :)
